With the sedentary lifestyle both men and women are suffering from increasing waistline. The junk foods also results in well- rounded abs. To get great abs exercise is not sufficient, need to have proper nutrition and a well-balanced exercise routine. Regular crunches are often recommended, but if we want to have well toned abs, then we have to go beyond the regular core exercises.

Exercise should be complemented with nutritious food. Ensure the food is rich in proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins contain amino acid, which is required for building the muscle and carbohydrates provide the energy to do the exercise.

Captains Chairs:
It is a great exercise for lower abs. Need to have chair with handholds for this exercise. Stand on the chair and hold the handholds properly to stabilize your upper body. Press your back against the backrest, contract your abs and slowly raise the legs, such that your knees come closer to your chest. When you lift your legs, your back should not be arched. At the same time, do not swing your legs up as it can cause stomach cramps. Gradually lower your legs back and repeat the exercise for 12 to 15 times.

Scissors:
Lie down on the floor and place your hands next to your buttocks. Lift both your legs off the floor and raise them up in the air to form a 90 degrees angle with the floor. Cross your legs like a pair of scissors, bring the feet together and then slowly lower the legs to about 6 to 8 inches off the floor. Cross the legs again and raise your legs up again and repeat the exercise 12 to 15 t
imes.

TRX Straps:
These are pretty new to the fitness market, but they are absolutely golden for strengthening your core. You definitely want to check the TRX suspension straps out.

Everybody is wondering these days how come celebrities have such toned, flat, fat free abs? Well, we may not have their personal instructors and their diets, but there are surely some more 'human' ways of losing belly fat. There are few things that we can practice in our daily life that will help us to lose stomach fat.

1. No alcohol allowed due to its high number of calories - 7 calories per gram

2. No junk food - everybody knows it's unhealthy; plus, it makes you eat even more and that's how you get that fat on your abs

3. Water - lots of water. You need to drink at least 2 liters of water per day

4. Do some exercises just after you wake up in the morning - jog or some indoor exercise - that way you will be active the entire day

5. Have a balanced diet - no unhealthy food (already mentioned junk food), no sugar/caffeine, no eating at odd hours (a pizza at 3 am is not a good idea) - do eat lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grain etc.

6. No stress - do some exercises that will relax you and the hormone that comes from high stress and makes you gain weight - cortisol - will not bother you anymore

7. Last, but not least - sleep. When tired - sleep. If you eat, then all that food will show on your belly. So sleep well during the night and so you will be active during the day
Also, don't forget about being motivated because its motivation that keeps you going with this type of lifestyle.
